Exhibition extended around bombing
The exhibition "Two Minutes, 22-2-1944" has been extended through Sunday, March 10, due to its success.
The exhibition at the House of Nijmegen History tells the story of Nijmegen before, during and after the bombing of Feb. 22, 1944. It was originally scheduled to end on Feb. 29.
The two minutes refer to the approximate time the bombing of Nijmegen took. The impact on the city and its inhabitants was enormous and is felt to this day. By means of photographs, portraits, maps and quotes, a picture is painted of life in the city before, during and after the bombardment. The exhibition gives a detailed picture of the inner city that was largely destroyed.
