Freedom Museum

Hans te Loo has gained extensive experience in his 35-year career in the Royal Army, both in the Netherlands and in conflict zones such as the former Yugoslavia and Afghanistan. For five years he was part of the Air Mobile Brigade, the infamous "Red Berets," which greatly deepened his understanding of military operations and strategies. Since 2018, he has been an active volunteer and guide at the Liberty Museum, where he has continued to expand his knowledge of World War II, with a specific focus on the 82nd Airborne Division and their role during Operation Market Garden.

During the presentation, Hans will highlight the military strategic decision-making behind Operation Market Garden, with a particular focus on the 82nd Airborne Division. He will take visitors through the history of the division, their thorough preparation, the leadership structure and the final deployment of the paratroopers. Crucial objects and locations that played a key role in the 82nd Abn Division's operation will be discussed.

The presentation offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the 82nd Airborne Division and their role in one of the most ambitious military operations of World War II. For anyone interested in World War II history, military strategy and the impact of liberation, this is an event not to be missed.
