The Colorfield Performance

Hard work is underway next to the Freedom Museum. On the meadow adjacent to the site, no fewer than 336 panels are being set up in the shape of a V for "Peace and Victory. Visual artist and "monumental designer" Dirk Hakze initiated this project and has already organized it at several locations. The installation will go through a growth process during the months it is here, as each day different artists come to paint their assigned panels.

On April 28 at 3 p.m., the exhibition, which then consists entirely of blank canvases, will open outdoors. On May 1, the first artists will come and fill their panels with their view of peace. New works of art will be added every day. The installation will stand in the meadow to the left of the Freedom Museum grounds and is accessible through a gate. It will remain in place through Sept. 17.
